The Story

“Veuve Clicquot is a wine that is always dominated by the structure, aromas and body of Pinot Noir.”

Written Notes

 Light amber, some sediments.
Nuts, almonds, fruit driven, nuanced, detailed, some peach and minerals, dried fruits, very nuanced and elegant.
Fresh acidity, apples, lemons, minerals, lively, refreshing, malt, touch bitter, nuanced, oxidative finish, long. Linear and almost saline finish.

  • 95p

Medium intense amber colour with slightly copper coloured hue. Initially slightly closed nose, opens up slowly, displaying hints of malt candy at the beginning. On the palate very discreet CO2, expressive acidity, hints of candied zests and a discreet whiff of dried apricots. Well-balanced with freshness and very good length.

  • 90p

Bright, light golden colour. No bubbles. Slightly oxidated nose but complex. Nutty nose with a warm wiff of a cow. The palate is very crisp and dry, some nutty toastiness, lemony twist with moderately short finish. – JL 88p (Aug 2023)
