Insane nose of pure cassis, minerals, and gorgeous flowers. This is stunning. Full and juicy, with amazing layers of fruit, from cassis to blueberries and hints of vanilla on the great finish.

96 points Antonio Galloni

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon bursts from the glass with rich, dark red fruit, smoke, licorice and incense. The aromas and flavors are a touch ripe, exotic and totally seductive. Polished, silky tannins frame the fruit beautifully through to the finish, where floral notes add the lift and brightness. The 2009 isn't a huge wine, but it is immensely appealing. 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The fabulous 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill displays the tell-tale floral character that routinely emerges from this vineyard, along with blueberry and black currant liqueur intermixed with hints of oak, camphor and incense. The purity of the fruit, the layered, multidimensional mouthfeel and spectacular 50-second finish are all characteristics of some of the greatest Cabernet Sauvignons Napa Valley has ever produced. This beauty is one of the candidates for wine of the vintage. It should continue to drink well for 25-30 years. (RP)

A real beauty, exhibiting riveting aromatics that touch a range of dark berry, green olive and herb flavors, with cedar, mocha and espresso notes. Yet for all the size and density of this Cabernet, the tannins are fine and silky. Best from 2014 through 2030.  (10/2012)

94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

(bottled in June of 2011): Dark ruby-red. High-pitched, slightly exotic aromas of brambly berries, minerals and jasmine tea. Sweet, dense and suave on entry, then extremely primary in the middle, with firm acidity giving shape to the wine's generous, seamless texture. Very aromatic but very young. One senses plenty of extraction here but the texture is quite smooth and the tannins polished. Finishes with lovely aromatic persistence.

The Story

Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon made from our 13-acre estate vineyard atop Pritchard Hill, overlooking Lake Hennessey.

The vineyard’s west-facing slope is perfectly positioned to capture the prevailing cool lake breezes, while also providing protection from drying canyon winds. The unique combination of rocky Sobrante soil, sunlight, cool breezes, soil depth and meticulous farming site to yield wines of exceptional quality. This first growth vineyard is meticulously farmed by David Abreu, with whom we have worked closely for more than 12 years. A beautiful expression of our unique terroir, this wine is a testament to the dedication of our winemaking and vineyard team who aim to produce the finest wine possible from this site.

Good dark red. Expressive, complex scents of plum, black raspberry, cedar, tobacco leaf, mocha and minerals. Fine-grained and energetic on the palate, with its sweet plum and mocha flavors lifted by a floral element. There's something Pomerol-like about this wine, which is about much more than simply primary fruit and displays more energy than either the '08 or '07 bottlings. A youthful yet already impeccably balanced wine with great class and finesse, this beauty finishes with utterly seamless, noble tannins. Winemaker Marc Gagnon named this as one of his three favorite bottles of this tasting.
