The Story

Bettina Proprietory Red is a beautifully layered and complex blend of Bordeaux varietals sourced from three of David Abreu’s own exceptional estate vineyards – Madrona, Thorevilos, and Lucia Howell Mountain. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, this powerhouse wine is made with the same attention to detail as the estate Cabernet Sauvignon and named after Bryant Family Vineyard President, Bettina Bryant.

Written Notes

The 2014 Bettina is an absolutely exquisite wine. Bright, textured and wonderfully silky on the palate, the 2014 exudes class. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate, chocolate, mint, chalk and rose petal notes open up effortlessly in the glass. Tasted next to the Cabernet Sauvignon from the Bryant estate, the Bettina has more volume, power and density in all of its dimensions. A powerful, seductive wine, the 2014 captures all of the magic it showed from barrel. Blood orange, pomegranate and rose petal add an exotic flair on the finish. The 2014 is going to need a bit of time to soften, but it has been tremendous on both occasions I have tasted it from bottle so far. Bettina, a wine made from David Abreu fruit, has been deeply intriguing since it was first introduced a few years ago. The 2014 is the best version yet. In a word: magnificent.
