95 points Antonio Galloni

Bryant's 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Bryant Family Vineyard is incredibly silky, polished and vibrant. Sweet red berries, mint, wild flowers and crushed rocks flow across the palate in an energetic, tense wine loaded with focus and cut. The 2011 is a bit understated relative to previous years, but its balance is terrific. High-toned floral and savory notes add an attractive upper register to the finish. I won't be surprised if the 2011 flies under the radar for a while. Wines from this property have a way of developing beautifully in bottle. 95+ (AG)   (11/2013)

90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The softer, lighter 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill reveals no hint of herbaceousness. It offers lots of red and black currants intertwined with hints of blueberry liquor, fewer floral notes, and attractive, medium-bodied, juicy fruit that provides allure as well as opulence. Enjoy it over the next 10-12 years. (RP)  (10/2013)

Wine Spectator

Creamy textured from the start and gracefully built, with a subtle mix of mocha, black cherry, anise, cedar, dill and espresso notes, fanning out on the finish and ending with firm, fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2022. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. (Web Only—2014)

The Story

Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon made from our 13-acre estate vineyard atop Pritchard Hill, overlooking Lake Hennessey.

The vineyard’s west-facing slope is perfectly positioned to capture the prevailing cool lake breezes, while also providing protection from drying canyon winds. The unique combination of rocky Sobrante soil, sunlight, cool breezes, soil depth and meticulous farming site to yield wines of exceptional quality. This first growth vineyard is meticulously farmed by David Abreu, with whom we have worked closely for more than 12 years. A beautiful expression of our unique terroir, this wine is a testament to the dedication of our winemaking and vineyard team who aim to produce the finest wine possible from this site.

Written Notes

Good looking normal size bottle, is in a perfect condition and has by the neck level. Colour is purple, and looking dark, bright and deep. On the nose it is wide, complex, seductive, rich and pure. The taste is focused, vigor, fragrant, refined, warming, with sweet tannins, and average in acidity, full-bodied, with perfectly balanced, well-structured and concentrated structure. On the palate it is layered and has chocolate, nutty, perfumed, leather, herbs, blackcurrant, tobacco, tropical fruits, truffles, mint and mineral flavours. The finish is long, lingering, flavorful and pure. This wine is intelligent, sexy and excellent. I paid around 1k-3k€ a bottle. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 20-30 years and decant at least 2t before tasting.
