The Story

The 30 hectare estate is set on a mix of gravel, iron and mineral soil with a scattering of sand throughout. Planted to mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a large portion of Merlot and a small portion of Cabernet Franc, the blend sees all three grapes mixed to create the wine best representing the terroir of the site. Vintage 2018

Report and recommendations for the 2018 Bordeaux vintage

Croizet Bages CC - 50% Cabernet Sauvignon + 50% Merlot. The young generation of the Quié family, Jean-Philippe Quié and his sister Anne-Francoise pull strings here and at Rauzan Gassies in Margaux commune. They try very hard to improve wine here, and 2018 is a splendid effort. It's quite aromatic, complex and well-composed wine with elegance and finesse. Light-footed a bit on the palate but delicate, seductive and tasty. No reason at all to complain. 92p (93p).

Ruby. Scented, blueberries, cassis, some liquorice and tobacco nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, anise, blueberries, some spices and liquorice, long finish. 89-91

  • 91p

Dark purple red colour with violet hue and black core. Dark berries, dark chocolate and dark cherries, a wine with multi-layered fruit, distinct spiciness and rich aroma. On the palate well structured with ripe tannins, juicy fruit and mild spices, very good length.
