The Story

With its pedigree style, CHATEAU-FIGEAC epitomises the elegance of the great wines of Bordeaux.

The wine’s individual character is drawn from an outstanding, complex terroir, characterised by three Gunzian gravel outcrops. Made from a grape composition of 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Cabernet Franc and 30% Merlot, its Cabernet majority is one of its features.Its unique style gradually shows through and develops over time.

Vintage 1995

Bordeaux / An excellent year for both sides of the Gironde and just the vintage that Bordeaux needed after the rain affected vintages of the previous 4 years. A mild winter and early spring was followed by a dry, hot summer. It did rain in early September but the rain was less than in the previous 4 vintages and, crucially, there was perfect weather from September 20th through to October.

Good looking normal size bottle. Colour is ruby red, and looking bright and medium. On the nose it is open and complex. The taste is with medium tannin ., with drying tannins, and average in acidity, medium-bodied, with balanced and well-structured structure. On the palate it is layered and has earthy, mineral, dried-fruit and leather flavours. The finish is long, pure and spicy. This wine is transparent. Decant at least 45min before tasting.
