The Story

Chateau Musar first started producing the Musar Jeune range of wines in 2006 from the fruit of low-yielding Bekaa Valley vines at around 1,000 metres above sea level. Altitude keeps the average temperature at 25 degrees Celsius with hot sunny days and cool nights and with 300 days of sunshine a year, grapes are ripened to perfection.

Unoaked and made according to Musar’s natural non-interventionist wine- making philosophy, Musar Jeune wines are vibrantly fruity, richly concentrated and this vintage is no exception.

Written Notes

Medium-deep, purplish color. Intense, ripe cherry and plum aroma with a charming toastiness and a hint of medicinal and cumin. Richly medium-bodied orientation with juicy dark berry fruitiness, supple soft tannins and a vibrant mineral spicy hue. Aftertaste of ripe cherries and cranberries together with light vanilla oak. A nuanced and supple wine that reaches its best age with a few years of bottle maturation, but which is absolutely delicious right now. Serve with fried duck breast and buckwheat risotto or grilled guinea fowl, with cherry sauce and mushroom stew. Decant for 2 hours and serve at 16-17 ° C on a Bordeaux glass. JL 88+p (4/2022)
