Written Notes

A fine bottle. Decanted only 15minutes. Quite a weak colour and a little tight on the nose. I decanted it too little, but happily after 45 minutes it opened up. Then it was ripe, fresh, and velvety on the nose.
Still some tannin left, but they are not as refined as in the best of recent vintages like 1961 and 1966. Good backbone and intensity though, and no lack of fruit. But slightly robust and a harshness at the end.
