Written Notes
It is evident that all of Piper's wines demand long storage. Previously I nearly always dismissed them as sour and uninteresting. Today Florens-Louis is one of the Champagnes I seek out most feverishly. The '69 is reminiscent of the unreal '66, but it actually seems as if it has another gear to go. The aroma is incredibly refined and the taste shares the sensual lime tone of Jacquesson's 1969.
