Champagne of the Decade
The best Champagnes of the 2000's
The fourth ever made WINE of the DECADE ranking was dedicated to champagnes from 2000 to 2009. The ranking was made by the professional team from the world’s one and only champagne magazine – FINE Champagne Magazine – and the world’s most largest wine information platform – Tastingbook.com.
What is the best Champagne of 2000's. The team assessed over 1000 champagnes in various tastings during 2015-2016. From these results the 100 best made it to the final, which was held in Reims, France. All the tastings were conducted as blind tastings.
The CHAMPAGNE of the DECADE 2000's is Piper-Heidsieck Rare 2002.
The WINE of the DECADE rankings base on the enjoyment that the wines’ deliver at the current moment. ”It is all about wines’ harmony, vivid nuances and balance on palate”, says Juha Lihtonen, the FINE magazines and Tastingbook wine specialist.
The previous WINE of the DECADE rankings have been organised in Adelaide for Australian reds from 2000-2009, in the Napa Valley for its premium Cabernet Sauvignons from 1990-1999 and in Helsinki for all the best wines of 1970's. WINE of the DECADE is the wine ranking concept that was created by FINE wine magazines together with Tastingbook.com in 2013. The rankings are held 2-3 times a year.
