The Story

The chateau makes three different wines. The so-called grand vin, that is Château Latour itself, a second wine called Les Forts de Latour and a third wine simply called Pauillac. Vintage 1918

​Very fine weather generally throughout the whole year, including the harvest. However, it would appear that the ripeness did not reach optimal levels. Perhaps everybody was in as much of a hurry to harvest as they were to see the end of the bloody war that had been raging in Europe for four years.

Tasted on the 2nd November 2018. Stand C. Chateau bottled. Elegant with finesse, possesses freshness, refined, gracious nose and silky texture, velvety finish. Impressive for the age and the best wine of 1.Growths that particular evening. Amazing.
