Vintage 2015

Full report of Bordeaux 2015 by Andrew Caillard MW “Next in line in a great series of vintages; 2000, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2015.

Written Notes

Tasted in April 2016. Really well-made, tasty fruit, splendid backbone, structure and fruity finish. Fine second wine.

  • 92p
Deep colour. Dark cherry, black currant herb garden aromas. Well concentrated wine with lovely fruit density and richness. Creamy black currant elderberry fruit, fine grainy tannins and savoury mocha oak. 2nd wine of Mouton. Great for this marque. 93 points
  • 93p
Dark purple red with violet hue and black core. Initially slightly closed, but opening up well with some oxygen. Rather restrained fruit and discreet spiciness. On the palate almost opulent, well structured with velvety tannins, fine fruit. On the palate almost more fruit expression than on the nose. Promising potential with a lot of character.
  • 94p
Medium full plum. A quite lovely wine, very charming, with bags of finesse, the nose has redcurrant and toasty coffee notes, the palate is quite firm and strict with a lovely juicy freshness. The finish hangs well, great elegance. 91-94/100 2023-2035
