The Story

Château Pape Clément's red wines are vinified in oak casks. This favors uniform fermentation, unlike steel vats which are prone to temperature variations. Maintained between 29 and 30°C during fermentation, then between 27 and 29°C during maceration after fermentation, moderate temperatures allow for gentle extraction of tannins and color. Ruby. Blackberries, anise, spices, rich, dense, vanilla, cassis, layered nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, dark fruits, anise, spices, some vanilla, rich and intense, lush, yet with energy, long finish. 95

 – modern-styled wine with a strong backbone, big concentration, lot of fruit and new oak. Strong structure and acidity well present. Made for long keeping. 94p

Dark purple red with violet hue and black core. Powerful nose with intense roasting aroma, dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans, backed by juicy fruit, ripe dark berries and stonefruit. On the palate opulent with freshness and ripe tannins, intense roasting flavour and juicy ripe fruit, graphite in the background. A rich and intense wine with freshness and very convincing length.
