The Story

Of the 1,000 hectares making up the Vega Sicilia estate, 210 are used for wine growing, and there are 19 soil-types divided for management purposes into 52 plots with very specific characteristics. Written Notes

“The 1941 Unico had a nutty, chocolaty nose as well with a pinch of maderized sherry that seems to work more for this wine than any other wine type. The palate was rich, meaty and chocolaty with a lot of alcohol to it, accompa- nied by figgy flavors and that sherry glaze.”(95+pts JK)

Savoury herbs with sweet cedar flavours mingle in this elegant wine under its original cork. Classic dried tea leaf notes of Unico with firm tannins. Still vibrant and holding up well. Impressive for a 73-year-old wine.
