Written Notes

First bottle: Crimson shading to transparent rim, but pretty impressive colour for a 10 year-old wine. Sweet with lots of rich oaky notes. It is juicy rather than majestic, with lots of maturity and a very slight hole in the middle. Not nearly as powerful as many Vega Sicilias I remember. A rather sweet old lady?
Second bottle: Firmer, more positive in its impact. But still far from the strongest Vega!

Dark garnet red colour. Wonderful nose, elegant fruit, elderberries, mulberries, fine spices. On the palate well structured with freshness, well balanced tannins and acidity, excellent length. Promising potential.
