The Story

Written Notes

Fair to expect great things of this – and served on the same day as the 70 La Tache, which conventional wisdom would suggest it would leave in its wake. Certainly an interesting and quite pleasant wine but hardly a superstar. Fully mature and indeed, on a gentle fade. A gentle decline might be a better description, but still plenty of time before it is gone. But certainly best drunk sooner rather than later. A mature, fading, mid-weight Bordeaux that still has much of interest. Drink up. 89

Very top shoulder fill, ruby, broad brick rim. Fantastic nose, towards rich, figs, prunes, tobacco, leather, very layered and nuanced. Stunning elegance on the palate, elegant acidity, not too high, tannins now gone (unlike the 70 Latour), superb, quite rich palate as well, cedar, perfumed, again tobacco. Long. Must be an absolute optimal bottle.
