The Story

Written Notes

Lafite Rothschild - 94% C. Sauvignon, 5% Merlot and 1% P. Verdot. 13.7% alcohol. This wine had, as always, wildly many layers to rely on. Everything was stunning, from a deeply intense nose of perfectly aromatic black fruit and flowers to an excellently structured palate covered with cashmere and full of luscious fruit and silky tannin, seamless, fabulous midpalate, and a mega-long finish lasting more than one minute. A legend in the making! 99-100p.

Ruby.
Blackberries, cassis, fruit driven, nuanced, detailed, bright, intense and scented nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, liquorice, detailed, blackberries, rich with finesse, layered and deep for Lafite, not for the vintage, long indeed.

A classical Lafite that reminds me of something like the 1986, with its blackcurrant and tobacco character with cedar and hazelnut, but it's so today with its purity and precision. It's really about being Lafite here. Terroir gives great elegance with strength. 99-100

A wine of stunning purity and freshness, the quintessence of elegance. Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core.  Excellent nose with concentrated yet elegant character and a slightly closed start. Opens up very well displaying a fine aroma reminiscent of blackcurrants, blackcurrant spurs, ripe blackberries, vanilla, cardamom and fine toasting. On the palate noble tannins, well balanced, juicy fruit and very elegant spiciness. A mind-blowing wine with excellent length and complexity in the finish.
