The Story

Château Trotte Vieille is a 1er (Premier) Grand Cru Classé Saint-Emilion and Borie-Manoux highest classified and most prestigious Château. Trottevieille is a very old estate. A pergament from the year 1453, kept at the Chateau today, shows that the funny name of Trottevieille had already been used for this estate in the 15th century. In the 14/15th century there apparently lived an elderly lady at the estate. The people from the village of Sai...

Vintage 2015

Full report of Bordeaux 2015 by Andrew Caillard MW “Next in line in a great series of vintages; 2000, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2015.

2015 is a wonderful Bordeaux vintage without the hype or hysteria associated with 2009 and 2010. The wines are generally expressive and generous with wonderful concentration and structure. Written Notes

Intense purple colour with violet hue. Elegant yet persistent and quite powerful nose with aroma reminiscent of balmy spices, nutmeg and black cherries, hints of mulberries and elderberry jam in the background. On the palate ripe yet well structured tannins, rich fruit and elegant spiciness. A wine with great depth and length displaying a remarkable evolution since the "en primeur" tasting in 2016.

Deep colour. Inky aniseed, violet aromas with praline, cedar notes. Richly flavoured wine with deep set praline, dark plum fruits, fine chocolaty, al dente textures and excellent mineral length. Quite muscular and tight but will unravel with time. One for the long haul. 97 points
