Written Notes

A very special moment during the "en primeurs" offering an almost mind-blowing tasting experience was created by a Cabernet Franc based on ungrafted vines dating from the time before Phylloxera devastated the vineyards. A unique and impressing wine with intense purple colour, violet hue and black core. The nose is complex and rich with an aroma reminiscent of sweet blackberries, juicy blackcurrants, ripe elderberries, spicy cedar wood and vanilla, cardamom and mild spices. On the palate this Cabernet Franc shows an exiting tension, opulent character, persistence with elegance, freshness and excellent aromatic depth, ripe and juicy fruit, fine vanilla and subtle oak, displaying a creamy texture. Precision and finesse characterize this quite unique Saint-Emilion which is extremely close to perfection and will offer a very promising evolution over the next decades.
