The Story

Château Trotte Vieille is a 1er (Premier) Grand Cru Classé Saint-Emilion and Borie-Manoux highest classified and most prestigious Château. Trottevieille is a very old estate. A pergament from the year 1453, kept at the Chateau today, shows that the funny name of Trottevieille had already been used for this estate in the 15th century. In the 14/15th century there apparently lived an elderly lady at the estate. The people from the village of Sai...

Vintage 2022

Bordeaux 2022 vintage will stay in the memory of the world of wine as the exceptional vintage which kept a lot of surprises. The year started well with bud break at a normal date, so the frost in early April did not too much damage. The flowering started in mid-May and in optimal conditions. Written Notes

Good looking normal size bottle and in an perfect condition. Colour is cherry red, and looking clear and deep. On the nose it is youthful and fresh. The taste is fresh, voluptuous, and dry, warming, with medium tannin, with drying tannins, and average in acidity, medium-bodied, with well-structured structure and developing. On the palate it is layered and has plum, earthy, cranberry, balsamic and cedar flavours. The finish is long and lingering. This wine is excellent. I paid around 50-100€ a bottle. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 10-15 years, decant at least 30min before tasting and this is a good invest wine. Good value for money. I do recommend.

Intense purple colour with violet hue and black core. Marvellous nose with very expressive character, ripe fruit, blackberries and mulberries, ripe cherries with hints of floral tones in the background. Fine toasting, elegant oak, great freshness and precision. Mouth watering finish with excellent length, multi-layered with fruit, spiciness and minerality. A great wine.
