The Story

Unlike most Burgundian estates, whether they have been bottling for a number of decades or only embarked on this path recently, the Domaine Dujac is a recent creation. It dates from 1968. Vintage 2014

The 2014 vintage in Burgundy was a very complicated one, although less so than those in 2013, 2012 and 2011, which featured dramatic crop shortages due to shatter, bad fruit sets and hailstorms.

In 2014, there were two problems which resulted in crop loss: hail in the Côte de Beaune, especially inMeursault; and poor flowering in some of the hillside vineyards of Puligny and Meursault.

Morey-St-Denis 2014 – For me, this exhibited less sweetness than the 2016 with more dry herbs and spices. Some minerally undertones. A hint of the briary and a smoky, spicy note. Bright, fresh and with a very light touch of the herbals. Has better length. It is a little simple but pure, fresh and delicious. 90.
