The Story

100% Syrah from Côte Brûne hillside known for its limestone clay soils with very rich in iron oxide.

In order to enhance quality the Guigals worked to acquire ownership in vineyards. Purchased in 1965, the just under one-hectare La Mouline plantation, which is located on the slopes of Côte Blonde, set the stage for the Guigals’ present reputation. Introduced the very next year, the La Mouline single-vineyard proved to be a smashing success,...

Wine Information

Parker 100 points: Another 2009 that exhibits over the top extravagance and richness, and one I can find no fault in, the 2009 Cote Rotie La Landonne offers a colossal and full-bodied profile that carries incredible aromas and flavors of roasted meats, smoke, asphalt and assorted meatiness that’s all grounded by a massive core of fruit. Written Notes

Good looking normal size bottle, is in a excellent condition and has by the neck level. Colour is ruby red, and looking bright and deep. On the nose it is intense, youthful, refined and ripe. The taste is round, perfumed, vivid, powerful, vigor, full-bodied, with complex and balanced structure. On the palate it is layered and has pepper, mineral, smoky, spice, tropical fruits, blackberry and herbs flavours. The finish is long, extensive, pure, spicy and vibrant. This wine is transparent and impressive. I paid around 500-1k€ a bottle. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 20-30 years and decant at least over 4h before tasting.
