The Story

La Mouline is a steeply terraced amphitheater on the Côte Blonde, a shape that shelters the 2.5 acre site from the wind and acts as a heat trap.  Soils are gneiss with lightly colored silicone containing limestone loess.  The site is planted to 89% Syrah and 11% Viognier, with the two varieties picked together and co-fermented. This extra dose of Viognier gives La Mouline its telltale aromatic complexity and additional softness and roundness; ...

Written Notes

Good looking normal size bottle and in an perfect condition. Colour is ruby red, and looking clear and medium. On the nose it is intense, seductive, complex and tempting. The taste is elegant, round, fresh, perfumed, and dry, warming, with medium tannin, with silky tannins, and high in acidity, medium-bodied, with perfectly balanced structure and developing. On the palate it is layered and has mint, balsamic, cranberry, blackcurrant, toasty, perfumed, mineral, earthy, cedar and floral flavours. The finish is endless. This wine is masterpiece. I paid around 200-500€ a bottle. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 20-30 years and decant at least 45min before tasting. Good value for money. I do recommend.

Ruby red in color, this wine offers aromas of small red fruits, blackberry and violet. It is intensely aromatic -- powerful, but full of finesse. On the palate, the wine is supple, with balance between the finesse of aromas and an explosive richness due to the wine's concentration. Greatly expressive of the terroir.
