Made at the height of the Lebanese Civil War, when Ksara’s harvest was only partially completed. Colour as before, though again a shade deeper – very vivid for its age. A step up from the previous wines in aromatic terms – there is actually something else to smell other than alcohol and acidity. Port-like, with some raisiny aromas, and it feels a little bit sweet on the finish, too. Real tannic grip, though not at all hard. As before, it fades very quickly because most of the fruit has dried out. But considering the circumstances under which it was made, this is a fine effort. 89
