The Story

Dom Ruinart cuvées: The origin of their grapes, exclusively Grand Crus, gives these cuvées, a high maturing potential provided that they are aged in optimum conditions of temperature, humidity and darkness, 10, 20 years or more depending on the vintage.

Written Notes

1988 Dom Ruinart 96 97 Still as good as the Vinothèque version and I hope and believe that it will remain so.

Intense, vivid bubbles, golden colour. Rich, creamy nose with toffee, waxiness, and peppermint aromas. Dry, crisp, mineral texture with refined creaminess, fresh apples and lemon, very intense grip in long lingering finish. Surprisingly youthful and crisp still! Lovely now but will evolve nicely within next 7 to 10 years.

Golden. Apples, some citrus, minerals, nuanced, elegant nose. Fresh acidity, minerals, spicy, nuts, nuanced, detailed, some spices, long. Touch bitter. 94
