The Weingut Robert Weil Kiedrich Gräfenberg Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA) 2020 is an ethereal elixir of monumental sweetness and precision. Hailing from the steep, phyllite-rich soils of Gräfenberg, this ultra-rare botrytis wine pours a thick, viscous, luminous amber-gold.
The nose is a breathtaking "terpene explosion," leaping out of the glass with candied citrus peels, dried dates, and forest honey, seamlessly layered over warm saffron, roasted hazelnuts, and a cool, wet-stone mineral backdrop.
On the palate, it delivers a masterclass in tension. Despite its immense residual sugar and unctuous, syrupy weight, it feels incredibly radiant and alive, driven by a shattering, electric Riesling acidity. Flavors of orange marmalade, quince jelly, and dried apricots saturate every corner of the mouth, leading into a persistently salty, salivating finish that seems completely immortal.
