The Story

Our Montevero is our flagship wine, a Cuvée blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. It is our version of a Premier Grand Cru of Tuscany, and stands for absolute top quality and unique character. We can guarantee this by taking the utmost care and being scrupulously selective when harvesting by hand. We produce Monteverro in minimal amounts from grapes from the best plots of the steep hillside slopes that run right...

Written Notes

A staggering masterpiece that captures the pinnacle of Capalbio's terroir with a deep, dark black cherry profile and flashes of vibrant ruby. The nose is an incredibly elegant and complex floral symphony, while the palate demonstrates breathtaking depth and flawless polish. Flawlessly marrying high-toned acidity with a massive core of dark fruit, this wine achieved top marks from the panel for its unparalleled precision, symmetry, and aristocratic texture.

  • 97p

A stellar, dry vintage with a cool spring and a warm summer, keeping yields low but flavor concentration and natural acidity remarkably high.

Opaque ruby-violet hue. The aromatics are deeply concentrated, featuring blueberry essence, cassis, and underlying notes of cedar wood. The entry is fresh and energetic, showing exceptional structure, fine-grained tannins, and an integrated oak profile that carries into a long, focused finish.

The 2021 Monteverro Toscana Rosso presents a deep, dark black-cherry color with vibrant purple highlights, opening with a complex and elegant bouquet of rose petals, potpourri, blueberry, thyme, oregano, cedar, and graphite. On the palate, it offers a soft, silky entry that evolves into a fresh, structured mid-palate driven by rich notes of black currant, blackberry, cherry pit, and black olive, all supported by fine-grained tannins and a lingering, polished finish.

  • 96p

Tightly focused yet texturally expansive, the 2021 highlights an increasingly dominant Cabernet Franc component that lends exceptional floral and herbaceous elegance. A perfume of violets, rose petals, thyme, and graphite opens into a energetic palate filled with crunchy cassis, dark chocolate, and toasted hazelnut. Silky, fine-grained tannins and a pulsating mineral drive carry through to an extraordinarily persistent finish
