The Story

Château La Mission Haut-Brion has a history as deep as its roots. It was started way back in the 16th century by the de Lestonnac family, and by the 17th century, a group of Lazarist priests took over and really put it on the map. Weather conditions / Vintage 2000 has from the very start been proclaimed as one of the best vintages of modern times. In spring 2003, I've had many opportunities to find out, if we really have a true dream vintage in our hands.

During harvest 2000, while doing "personal inspection" in the vineyards, I noticed that something extraordinary big was on its way. Grapes looked extremely healthy.

Tasted on the 9th December 2016. This wine tasted closed, but its all cylinders were fully loaded, just waiting for perfect time to show all the fabulous things. Patience required.
