Written Notes

Le Petit Lion du Marquis de Las Cases Saint-Julien- 40% Cabernet

Sauvignon 60% Merlot - 30% New oak Deep colour, getting some

smoky notes, lovely texture here, and open, accessible, nicely balanced

but just finished quite quickly on the oak. 89-91/100 2022-2030

Ruby in color, with scents of gravel, earth, spice and tobacco, the medium-bodied wine is fresh, clean and filled with spicy crème de cassis. 88-90 Pts

Tasted in April 2016.  Very concentrated  on the palate, tight and dense, velvety texture, long aftertaste. Fine second wine.

Medium deep colour. Aniseed plum like aromas with some gravelly notes. Inky plum flavours with slinky textures and fine acidity. Sappy finish. Touch underpowered. 88 points
  • 88p
A wine made out of the young vines of Château Léoville las Cases and the old Merlots. Initially quite closed with fine fruit and mild spiciness. The wine needs time to open up, promising a good future. On the palate well structured with juicy fruit, silky tannins and hints of minerality in the finish. An elegant wine with length.
