Written Notes

Tasted in April 2017. Very concentrated, tight and dense, velvety texture, long aftertaste. Fine second wine of Leoville Las Cases.

Medium deep colour. Intense raspberry dark cherry aromas with vanilla oak notes. Well concentrated raspberry, dark cherry fruit with roasted chestnut notes, fine supple tannins, generous mid palate richness and plenty of inky length. Fresh crunchy acidity flows across the palate. Very good wine. Tasted at Ch Leoville Lascases. 91 points

  • 91p

Dark purple red with violet hue and black core. Initially slightly closed, opens up very well towards aroma reminiscent of blackberries and blackcurrants, mild spices, vanilla, hints of gingerbread, very discreet toasting aroma. On the palate excellent structured and length, juicy and sweet fruit, firm but ripe tannins and discreet spiciness. 92
