Written Notes

Tasted in September 2022.  80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Franc. 13.2% alcohol. This wine was elegant and refined, with red fruit and tobacco on the nose, great complexity and structure, rich, very long on the palate, vibrant and with great depth. Long persistent finish. Impressive effort for the vintage. 95-96p.

Medium-deep crimson. Blackcurrant lead-pencil cedar aromas with roasted chestnut notes. Classically structured wine with blackcurrant blackberry fruits, fine sinewy/ grainy tannins and roasted chestnut oak. Finishes muscular firm with leafy notes. Lovely precision. Fresh and voluminous but needs several years to show itself. 80% cabernet sauvignon, 15% cabernet franc, 5% merlot. Maturation in 85% new French oak. 13.2% alc

Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Excellent nose with ripe berry fruit, black stone fruit, hints of mulberries, backed by fine toasting, subtle oak, hints of black chocolate. On the palate well opulent character, well structured and balanced with mature tannins, fine acidity, a full-bodied wine with juicy fruit, mild spices and excellent length. A classic Léoville Las Cases
