Château Pichon Longueville de Lalande is ideally situated between the Gironde estuary and the Atlantic Ocean. Since the end of the 1970's, the reputation of Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande has acquired the status of a "super second" and a "nearly first", in light of the consis...

Vintage 2015

Full report of Bordeaux 2015 by Andrew Caillard MW “Next in line in a great series of vintages; 2000, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2015.

Written Notes

2015 tasted like twin sister of 2016 with a bit more roundness and softness than in 2016. There was less C.S. and more Merlot in the blend in this vintage. Stunning wine. 98p.

Ruby. Blueberries, anise, some spices, scented, floral, nuanced nose even if tightening up. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, anise, blueberries, spices, detailed, elegant texture and structure, nuanced and long. Drink from 2030 to 2060. 96

Dark purple red with violet hue and almost black core. Initially closed but opening up well. Aroma reminiscent of elderberries and mulberries, blackcurrants, cardamom and vanilla. On the palate well structured with full-bodied character, excellent depth and length.
  • 97p
Cassis, roasted cedar aromas with mocha notes. Richly flavoured and elemental with ripe blackcurrant aromas, ginger, savoury biscuity oak and round generous tannins. Finishes firm with attractive tannin plume. Plenty of substance yet balanced. 95 points
