Since the end of the 1970's, the reputation of Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande has acquired the status of a "super second" and a "nearly first", in light of the consis...

Bordeaux: The 2nd in a trio of great vintages and which produced a large harvest of ripe, rich and fleshy wines which generally possess soft, silky tannins, accompanied by a high alcohol level. Tasted three times - last time in April 2018. Consistent notes. Same style as 1990 but more finesse and sophisticated touch here. More depth and longer aftertaste. Delicious wine. This was in 1996. Tasted better 22 years later, tight, complex, sophisticated and with great structure. Fully great wine.

Good deep colour. Fresh , powerfu, spicy. Long finish. One of my favourite Pichon Lalandes. Great now but will age well.
