The Story

The vineyard is planted with 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc on complex clay and limestone soils and sub-soils. Vintage 2020

In Bordeaux, the heat led to early flowering. Additionally, this led to an early harvest after a very hot summer. As a starting point, there is great maturity in the grapes, and we can expect a more opulent vintage than in recent years.

Tertre Roteboeuf – 80% Merlot + 20% Cabernet Franc. 15% alcohol. Incredibly perfumed nose of dark cherries/wild cherries/morello cherries. The palate is a paradise with outstanding purity, beautiful berries and tannin, drive and complexity. The high alcohol is hidden in the skirts of this wine and not noticeable at all! An eternal and sublime effort from a magician winemaker, Francois Mitjaville! 98-100p.

APR 21 Ruby. Lush dark fruity nose, intense, layered and deep nose, blackberries, cocoa, coffee and exotic spices. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, dark fruits, anise, spices, juicy, lovely nerve going through its plush layers of rich fruits. Very long. 14,5 alcohol. 95-97

Intense purple colour with violet hue and black core. Wonderful nose with aroma reminiscent of ripe Morello cherries, juicy plums and sweet blackberries, wonderful spiciness, complex yet a bit closed, a wine with enormous potential, a very typical Tertre Roteboeuf.
