The Story

L’Apôtre is the estate's top cuvée — a single-vineyard champagne from the La Pierre St-Martin vineyard, with vines planted in 1946 by Léclapart's own grandfather. 2006 l'Apôtre, Champagne, France Starts very muted with just the slightest hints of lemon, tart apples and aromas that resembles Geuze. As the wine nose opens up hints of nuts, almonds, minerals, pear and a floral note appears. Full and intense with creamy mousse but aromaticly restrained with apples, lemon, graham crackers and grapefruit. Very focused but bit undeveloped at this stage. The finish displays mor mineral notes and is long though with a touch of bitterness. Needs time. Drink 2015-2022 90p.
