The Story

Like all second-label wines, La Chapelle is the little brother of the flagship wine produced on the same estate, Château La Mission Haut-Brion.

It is made from grapes grown in the same vineyard, it is raised in the same manner and benefits from the same level of care. Vintage 2015

Full report of Bordeaux 2015 by Andrew Caillard MW “Next in line in a great series of vintages; 2000, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2015.

Written Notes

Dark, ruby red colour. Pronounced meaty nose with smoky tones. Medium-bodied, vivid acidity, toasty oakiness and spicy tannins. Moderately long aftertaste with gently gum-puckering finish. Bit robust in style. Drinking well already, but will keep. Decant 1.5 hours and serve at 17-18°C with grilled duck with garlic fries. JL 92p (4/2019)

Medium deep colour. Black olive, dark satsuma plum with praline notes. Richly concentrated and mouthful long with inky dark plum cassis fruit with flinty black olive notes, plentiful chocolaty tannins and savoury oak. Finishes slightly grippy firm but good energy and precision of fruit. 93 points
