Written Notes

Tasted in April 2024. 52.7% Merlot, 29.6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17.7% Cabernet Franc. 14.5% alcohol. With over 20% less Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, one would expect a softer wine from this estate than its 2022 counterpart. However, this is not the case! The wine is tighter than usual and will benefit from extended cellaring. It offers plenty of blackcurrants and cherries on the nose, with tobacco notes. The wine is mineral-driven, vibrant, complex, refined, and has a fine midpalate. It finishes with a long aftertaste. Overall, it's a sublime wine.

Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, blackberries, anise, dark fruits, liquorice and spices, blueberries, detailed, nuanced and long. Sort of a soft giant, it feels lighter than it really is. 97-99

 Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Excellent nose fine floral character, wisteria and violets, juicy blackberries and blackcurrants, hints of sweet plums in the background. Subtle oak and discreet spiciness with hints of gingerbread and candied orange peel. On the palate velvety tannins with excellent structure, excellent mid palate, fine fruit and gingerbread spices, floral hints and dark chocolate. Excellent depth and length with fine minerality creating tension.
