The Story

Written Notes

Relatively weak nose with slightly toasted elements. The taste is fruity and good, but the wine hardly holds up its label. Big bottle variation, where certain bottles have a strongly toasted bouquet.

A fine bead, delicate and persistent, forming a creamy mousse, within a rainbow of hues that range between platinum, snow gold and tawny amber. Fresh, crystalline and sharp, the nose reveals a unique vegetal, aquatic world, with hints of white pepper and gardenia. The wine's maturity then makes a gentle appearance before exhaling peaty accents. In the mouth, the attack is direct, a prelude to a lusty roundness that seems to curl up like a plant. The notes of anis and dried ginger glide over fruit skins (pear and mango), creating an effect that is more tactile than fleshy. The finale stretches out and then comes to rest, calm, mature and diffuse. An ineffable charm has made itself felt, with no effect on the wine's integrity.

Golden, amber hue, tiny bubbles. Lemon candy, yellow plums. Light and soft as velvet, nuanced, flirting, transparent, with a creamy texture. A touch bitter in the finish. Very elegant, but does it lack a bit? My fellow tasters was kinder than me..... 90

Oeil: vieil or, Amber, bubbles invisible, viscosity medium (champagne standard). No tears Nose: gingerbread, stewed of very ripe fruits. Aromes Maggie. Bouche: mousse gone, light and mellow wine with lingering gingerbread, ripe apricot, finish with spices (cinnamon, cayenne, vanilla beans) Goof for the aromas experience. 89 Pts

Amazing bottle! The first impression was somewhat hesitative – is there any energy left as there was hardly no bubbles detected. In the mouth the wine did not explode but showed good structure with some delicate bubbliness. The taste was however intense and the aftertaste immensely lingering making me take another zip and another one. Zip after zip the wine showed more and more life in it, even the less apparent effervescence became more prominent. Wonderful champagne! Two-Michelin star chef Hans Välimäki said he associated the flavours to potatos and black truffle, which made him think of dish prepared on these! How about potato veloute with black truffles?
