“Beautiful deep orange and copper toned colour. Evolved, soft, toasty nose with depth. Ripe cherry fruit, gentle spiciness. Quite winey, clean fruit and evolved style. Velvety texture and really harmonious character. A consistently great effort with the maceration method. Always a delight. I have also grown to be a great fan of the magnum, which ages in a grand fashion developing great winey qualities and Burgundian notions. ”
100% pinot noir; 10 crus; 50/50% base year/previous vintage; 5 years on lees; 8g/l dosage. The unique vinification of the base wine in oak sees destemmed grapes macerated fro 48 to 72 hours, and fermentation of virtually free run juice. The result is a pale salmon hue, aromas of rose petals and spices and a supple palate driven by red berries and cherry, and a crisp, clean finish. – James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 95p

Good looking normal size bottle. Colour is ruby red and medium. On the nose it is intense, youthful, charming, pure, refined, fresh and forward. The taste is fruity,robust, fresh, focused, elegant, and dry, with silky tannins, and high in acidity, with well-integrated, well-structured, concentrated, balanced structure and youthful. On the palate it is layered and has citrus, cranberry, raspberry, white fruits and mineral flavours. The finish is lingering, vibrant and pure. This wine is fine. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 1-5 years.
