The Story

The Cuvée Rosé from Laurent-Perrier is the most recognized rosé champagne in the world. It is also one of the few rosés still made by the saignée method. Held in an elegant bottle inspired by King Henri IV, it has been widely acknowledged for its consistent high quality for more that 40 years, and it is the benchmark for rosé champagne around the world.

Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé is truly remarkable for its highly expressive bouquet, stemming from very careful preservation of fresh fruit aromas during the wine making. Made with 100% Pinot Noir from 10 different "crus " (or villages), from the North and South areas of the Montagne de Reims, as well as the famous Cote de Bouzy. Grapes from carefully selected plots are meticulously sorted and de-stemmed before going into the vats, and the controlled maceration helps with the color extraction and the development of the full aromatic richness of the Pinot Noir.

Intensely fruity flavors, clean and slightly sharp, the wine opens to the sensation of freshly picked red berries: strawberries, Morello cherries, black currants and raspberries. The finish is supple and rounded.

Wine Information

The Cuvée Rosé Laurent-Perrier bottle, with its generous, curvaceous lines, is unique – an invitation to self-indulgence.
When Bernard de Nonancourt launched Cuvée Rosé Laurent-Perrier in 1968, he decided to present his creation in a uniquely distinctive bottle to magnify this very special cuvée.

He found his inspiration in the rather stubby bottles manufactured in the time of King Henri IV, adding the seal-like monogrammed ‘LP’ shield. The packaging, which seemed very modern at the time, has gradually evolved since 1968.

These days, Cuvée Rosé Laurent-Perrier is sold in an extremely elegant presentation case reminiscent of the delicate colour of the wine and its Pinot Noir grapes. It is a highly-valued and much sought-after gift, the world over.

Grape varietal: Pinot Noir 100%
Crus: 10 different crus located mainly in the South and North areas of the Montagne de Reims – including the famous Côte de Bouzy – notably from the finest crus of Ambonnay, Bouzy, Louvois and Tours-sur-Marne.
The grapes from carefully selected plots are sorted and destemmed before vatting. The maceration – lasting from 48h to 72h depending on the harvest – helps the extraction of the colour and the development of the full aromatic richness of the Pinot Noir.
Ageing : 5 years minimum

Written Notes

This salmon-pink rose Champagne is truly remarkable for its highly expressive bouquet, stemming from very careful preservation of fresh fruit aromas which occur during the winemaking. Using skin contact with 100% Pinot Noir grapes, also known as the saignée method, Laurent-Perriers know-how and attention to quality produces a finely crafted rosé with both depth and freshness. It has become the benchmark for rosé Champagne around the world. Meticulous sorting of the grapes and controlled maceration help the extraction of color and reveal the full aromatic richness of the Pinot Noir grape. Unlike most rosé Champagnes, the base of Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Brut is obtained by drawing juice off of the grapes in the vat, rather than simply blending red and white wines. Cellaring length varies and is dependent on the wine in order to preserve its fresh red fruit aromas. The Cuvée Rosé Brut makes a delicious aperitif. It pairs very well with pork or poultry, and is an extraordinary match for red fruit desserts. The most audacious may even pair it with Asian cuisine.
