Much like 1947, 1961 and 2005, 2009 is a year of almost overly (for Bordeaux) flamboyant and opulent wines with high maturity and low acidity. Fresh juicy plums, ripe blackberries, spices. A stunning wine with sumptuous tannins, copious layers of flavours and a long finish. Rich and full-bodied but not heavy, with a gentle pashmina-like tannin texture that glides over the tongue. This wine has an expensive, polished texture but there is also freshness, vibrancy and vitality in the wine. This is a winner and one for the cellar.
