BORDEAUX VINTAGE 2019

I was looking forward to the en primeur tastings which were scheduled for March 26, 2020 but the tastings were canceled mid-March . I immediately contacted the different associations...

Written Notes

Good looking normal size bottle, in an perfect condition and has by the neck level. Colour is cherry red, and looking clear and deep. On the nose it is wide and seductive. The taste is elegant, voluptuous, fresh, and dry, warming, with medium tannin, with drying tannins, and average in acidity, medium-bodied, with balanced structure and developing. On the palate it is layered and has cranberry, toasty, smoky, plum, pepper and cassis flavours. The finish is long and flavorful. This wine is fine. I paid around 50-100€ a bottle. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 10-15 years, decant at least 30min before tasting and this is a good invest wine. Good value for money. I do recommend.

Tasted in February 2022. 55% C. Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 5% C. Franc and 4% P. Verdot, 14% alcohol, Second wine of Cos d'Estournel. An aromatic burst of sweet blackcurrants on the nose, opulent on the palate, creamy berries, silky texture, and splendid support of sweet tannins. Nice touch of minerality. I could easily taste the contribution of Petit Verdot here! Sublime effort!

  • 93p

Dark purple colour with violet hue and almost black core. Elegant nose with aroma reminsicent of raspberries and black cherries, hints of liquorice and vanilla in the background. On the palate elegantly structured with aromatic depth, velvety tannins, fine acidity and restrained fruit. A well balanced with with convincing length.
