The Story

The result of rigorous selection at each stage of production, in both the vineyard and the winery, this great, predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon wine is typical of the Saint-Estèphe appellation. Structured and tannic but with all the elegance and refinement of a Grand Cru Classé, with time it develops a delicate and complex bouquet.

The wines have considerable ageing potential and are exceptionally long-lived. Certain vintages (1921, 1929, 1...

Vintage 2021

NEWS: BORDEAUX 2021 VINTAGE by Pros: What do the critics think?

Antonio Galloni, Vinous: “The 2021 Bordeaux turned out to be such a surprise. The weather conditions were difficult, and yet the best properties turned out magnificent and classic wines that will absolutely delight readers who appreciate freshness and energy. Written Notes

62% C. Sauvignon, 6% C. Franc, 31% Merlot and 1% P. Verdot. 13% alcohol. More elegant than powerful in 2021. Tight and quite mineral. Silky tannin. Great complexity and fine mid-palate. Knowing that this property is always a long-time runner and needs many years to show its glory, I'll not exclude giving this wine a higher rating after bottling. 94-95p.

Deep colour. Classic blackcurrant cedar mocha aromas with herb garden/ sage notes. Ample blackberry, cassis, briary fruits, fine dense velvety/chocolaty textures and plentiful cedar roasted chestnut notes. Very pure fruited with superb tannin richness, precision and vigour. Finishes al dente firm and bittersweet with saturated dark berry fruits. Lovely density and complexity – should develop very well. 62% cabernet sauvignon, 31% merlot, 6% cabernet franc, 1% petit verdot.

Ruby. Floral, scented, blackberries and spices, dark fruits, nuanced, layered nose. Almost a lilacs note. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, detailed, lovely fruit, body and balance, energetic and refined, long finish. What a charmer! 96-98

  • 98p

Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Very elegant yet expressive nose, fine floral hints and vibrant fruit hints, very pure style with aroma reminiscent of ripe blackcurrants, juicy blackberries, hints of white pepper, liquorice and floral hints (violets and roses). On the palate well structured and balanced with full-bodied character, very good depth and excellent length, excellent tension, a great wine with fine fruit and spiciness.
