The Story

The result of rigorous selection at each stage of production, in both the vineyard and the winery, this great, predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon wine is typical of the Saint-Estèphe appellation. The wines have considerable ageing potential and are exceptionally long-lived. Certain vintages (1921, 1929, 1...

A very powerful and structured Montrose with steely tannins that run the length of the wine. It's compacted and muscular with an extremely long finish. Graphite and spices in the aftertaste. This should be terrific after the elevage. From organically grown grapes. 66% cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot, 8% cabernet franc and 1% petit verdot. 97-98

  • 98p

Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core.  Intense and powerful nose with refined toasting, subtle oak, dark chocolate and gingerbread spices. On the palate well structured, well balanced taste with excellent length and depth, dark berries, plums and elderberry jam, stunning persistence with a very appealing finish. Opulent and rich yet still showing elegance and freshness.
