The Story

This is the Domaine's only plot that is not located in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. Located on the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, it is a hard calcareoussoil, with a depth of barely 30 cm of soil and big stones which gives it its name. Written Notes

Star of the night. Opened very much out there, with fungal complexity, and soon moved to a warm earthiness and forest floor characters. Lots of lovely complex fruit characters, depth of flavour, excellent length. A wine which certainly explodes with that 'peacock's tail'. Move past the funk and it is all fresh florals, good concentration, good acidity. A wine of class and quality. Finesse with power. Great promise. Will get better and better for many years. 95

Bright crimson. Firm, zesty nose. Polished tannins and extremely delicate fruit. Really quite lean and fine and restrained. This wine has been going to the gym! Mineral and very strongly marked by 2008.
