The Story

Olivier Bernard's extensive project at Domaine de Chevalier has really come to fruition. After a bold and not to mention expensive re-planting program throughout the `80s and then a decade and a half of patience for the vines to gain maturity, we can really see the benefits. 2005, 2008, 2009 and now 2010 rank amongst the very best wines produced in this sprawling commune. Written Notes

Pale gold colour with green highlights.
The nose is incredibly complex, displaying concentrated fresh, fruity, spicy and floral overtones. Vine peach and lime nuances blend with hints of tropical fruit, vanilla, and cinnamon, while floral fragrances of honeysuckle and acacia provide delicate background aromas.
The wine is especially powerful and fresh on the palate. It is full-bodied and very mineral with magnificent acidity providing balance and length.
2006 Domaine de Chevalier blanc is opulent, refined, and complex, with a subtle balance.  Its fine long aftertaste puts it on a pedestal with the estate’s finest vintages!

Tasted four times - last time in March 2009. Consistent notes. Impressed with freshness, splendid collaboration between aromaticly scented fruit (lemon/citrus, pear and peaches) and acidity, many nuances, lovely structure and long aftertaste.

Pale lemon yellow. A somewhat richer and fuller nose for DdC blanc, but also typical lemons, minerals and apples with a touch of grapefruit. Quite intense nose. Fresh acidity, full bodied and some nutty and vanilla flavours, almost smoky, before lemons and a more focused aftertaste sets in. Oak is a bit up front both on nose and palate at this stage, so give it a few more years. Very long. 95
