The 2022 Domaine De Chevalier Blanc brings more dimensions and layers, as well as richness. Based on 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Sémillon, aging in 40% new oak, it has a beautiful perfume of honeyed citrus, subtle tropical flowers, and chalky, minerality nuances. This carries to a medium to full-bodied white with plenty of density and depth, nicely integrated acidity, and a gorgeous finish. I wouldn't be surprised to see this end up in the top...

The Story

Olivier Bernard's extensive project at Domaine de Chevalier has really come to fruition. After a bold and not to mention expensive re-planting program throughout the `80s and then a decade and a half of patience for the vines to gain maturity, we can really see the benefits. 2005, 2008, 2009 and now 2010 rank amongst the very best wines produced in this sprawling commune. Powerful but graceful, true to their terroir, and just so enjoyable to d...

Wine Information

The 2022 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc is made from 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon. It needs considerable swirling and coaxing to unlock notes of fresh pineapple, orange blossoms, lime cordial, and juicy pears, giving way to wafts of honeysuckle and cedar. The medium-bodied palate is electric with citrus and tropical fruit layers, framed by a racy backbone and satiny texture, finishing long and mineral-laced. This is nicely done! pH 3.32.

Written Notes

70% S. Blanc + 30% Semillon. Dignified nose of green apple, pear, and lemongrass. Great acidity. Vibrant and sophisticated on the palate, with great complexity, depth, and length. Many layers. Classic and distinguished effort for the property. Amazing stuff!

Pale lemon yellow.
Some peach, apricots, minerals, apples, lemons, vanilla, detailed and layered nose, nuanced. Fresh acidity, apples, lemons, peach, detailed and nuanced, bright, creamy, layered and intense, long finish. Lovely candied lemons note, lovely balance.

A deep and layered white with rich and intense structure. It’s full yet agile with so much energy and intensity. Cooked apple, lime zest and nougat with oyster and sea bed undertones. Fascinating already.

  • 99p

Bright yellow colour with green hue. A refined and expressive wine with refined character and excellent fruit, grapefruit zest, fresh tangerine, hints of granadilla and candied lemon peel in the background. Backed by white blossoms and hints of mild spices. On the palate excellent structured, depth and length, fine minerality, a great wine which will be one of the historical vintages to remember.
