The Story

The pleasure derived from tasting Yquem is difficult to describe.

It offers a myriad of well-balanced, complex flavours that generate even more harmonies over time. The impression that remains is reminiscent of a quote from Frédéric Dard "the silence that follows a piece by Mozart, in which the listener remains suffused with the music". Wine Information

Another rather warm year, but with more rain. The harvest began on the 4th of October after 4 weeks of wet weather that unfortunately had a negative impact on plots with very sandy soil. Vintage 1994

Bordeaux Vintage Report 1994 / After a mild winter, spring brought heavy rain and frost which significantly damaged the vineyards. After a stormy start to the summer, the weather calmed down and changed very favorably for the latter part of the vintage. The harvest took place in good conditions and the vintage ended moderately to even good. The wines are perfectly pleasant today.

Written Notes

Deep golden. Apricots, pineapples, fruity nose, touch of botrytis. Fresh acidity, lively and elegant, not that complex but playful and elegant, long finish. 91

Consistent notes. Golden. Deep nose of somewhat sweet fruit and honey, well packed with apricots and peaches on the palate, with nice support of fresh acidity and delicate aftertaste. It seemed really presentable right now and hopefully will continue like so in additional 12-15 years.
