Written Notes

This is so different – fresher berry fruit, perfumed tea but also a little bloody (iron) note. Delicate and lively and so so fine. Scented to a very long elegant finish. Charming yet still focused and fresh. (Most of the production was sold to a local restaurant so this wine is very hard to find, apparently.) (JH)

A/B level fill, perfect cork. Garnet with broad brick rim. Leaps out of the glass, liquorice, roses, tar, leather, very complex, touch of coffee beans. Very fresh acidity, ripe tannins, lively fruit, vey pure, great balance, fantastic mature texture, stable, hardwood, increadible long length. Fantastic wine. 97

D 30 min / G 1 h Moderately pale tawny colour with plenty of fine sediment. Intense nose with dark berries – mostly brambles and typical waxiness. Less complex but vital. Fleshy palate is dry with very firm texture, vivid acidity and ripe tannins. Intense dark fruity tones are balancing well the taste. Long finish. Not the most complex wine but holding well still. No further ageing.
