Written Notes

A true relic of Saint-Émilion, Ausone 1902 is less a wine than a living fragment of history in a glass. The nose is astonishingly alive for its age, opening with ethereal aromas of dried violets, antique wood, tobacco chest, and candle wax, layered with whispers of spice box and autumn leaves. On the palate it is gossamer-like, almost weightless, yet still carrying a serene depth: flavors of faded redcurrant, dried fig, forest moss, and a gentle echo of cocoa and tea leaf. The tannins have dissolved into silk, leaving behind an impression of quiet grace. The finish drifts on endlessly — not powerful, but timeless, like an old melody that refuses to fade.
